Variable‑Speed Drives (VSD) & Soft Starters

Variable‑Speed Drives (also known as VSDs, VFDs or inverters) and Soft Starters give you precise motor control, smoother starts and up to 50 % energy savings. Schneider Electric’s Altivar Process ATV600/ATV900 and Altivar Machine ATV320 drives handle everything from conveyors to pumps, covering 0.37 kW to 630 kW with built‑in EMC filters and Modbus/TCP, Ethernet/IP or Profibus connectivity.

When fixed‑speed is all you need, Altistart ATS22 and ATS48 soft starters ramp large motors gently, slashing mechanical stress and in‑rush currents up to 70 %. Both series include torque‑control algorithms, built‑in bypass contactors and thermal protection, meeting IEC 60947‑4‑2 and IEC 61800‑5‑1 for global compliance.

Choosing the right unit is straightforward: 1) match the drive’s nominal current to your motor FLA with 10 % head‑room, 2) verify the supply voltage (200–240 V, 380–500 V or 525–690 V), and 3) pick the control interface—simple keypad, embedded web server or advanced process control. Use the filters to sort by power, voltage or communication protocol, then add to cart for tracked worldwide delivery. Run your plants smarter, safer and more efficiently.
